Coal Mining Risk Assessment

Coal mining has left historic and abandoned mine shafts, adits and underground tunnels as well as opencast quarries across the UK. Risks associated with historic mine workings include subsidence and the release of gas. If an area has history of mining, a coal mining assessment may be required by the planners or client.

Geo-Matters Ltd review available records and can visit the Coal Authority’s archive to enable a thorough and comprehensive assessment of related risks to be made.
