Ground Gas Monitoring

Gas monitoring is undertaken to determine the levels of methane, carbon dioxide, oxygen and other gases which can be generated by sources such as made ground, backfilled materials and historic mine workings. If / where ground gas is located (including radon), its risks to the proposed scheme are assessed by comparisons to guidance, after which site-specific protection measures can be recommended.
